This piece is a throwback to one of my old ideas, where you make the animal "butterfly" using your hands, palms, and fingers. Similar to the idea of the hand turkey that is made using the same technique but a different type of animal. The "butterfly" wings are like fingers, and fingers are known to be a part of the human body. It's also worth noting, I personally like using my hands as a form of signature for my artwork. The purple in the middle symbolizes the two genders being brought together and having equality. On each nail is a design, representing the 5 basic needs. The thumbs are symbols of sleep and energy. The index fingers are symbols of love and health. The middle fingers are symbols of water. The ring fingers are symbols of sunlight, play, and exercise. The little fingers are symbols of food. The butterfly is also known to represent life and joy. My work is about humanity, life, and joy because we are all human.
