What is up the road? What is beyond the horizon? Are the shadows merely peaceful shade? Or is there something hiding in the darkness? There may be a beast of our imagination, or the sunlight might break through revealing all.

When I work, my goal is to capture what I experience out there in the Arkansas landscape. The colors, textures, distances, the atmosphere – I choose media that I feel speaks to those experiences. I particularly love the immediacy of plein air work and try to get out and paint in person as much as possible.
