For me, unity as a nation seems more and more impossible every day. Compromise comes with high stakes, and the stakes are growing higher every day. Finding common ground often feels impossible. We all share the basics of our human condition yet are vastly different in world perspectives and opinions about how life in general ought to be. But we all seem to love something or someone, and some are even able to love universally. So, I can accept that in spite of all the hatred and anger, love in some form is still possible.

The title of this painting and its content come from this hope.
