In my work, I find that the most profound beauty often exists in the quiet transition between life and its conclusion. For the theme of Our Common Ground, I chose to explore the one universal experience that binds all living things: the cycle of return. In this painting I wanted to show there is no loss of dignity in decay. The "inevitable" is not a tragedy, but a shared grace. We all arrive here. Beauty, life and decay are shared.
