"Layers of Humanity" took shape over several months through a purely intuitive practice, evolving organically without a predetermined sketch. Fabric appliqué, wool felting, and hand embroidery overlap to build a tactile topography, demonstrating how varied mediums interact and depend on one another to form a cohesive whole. Intricate beadwork renders a textural sky and a vibrant river that physically cascades off the edge of the canvas — a deliberate reminder that our environments and connections are fluid, refusing to be strictly bordered or contained. This multi-media landscape stands as a testament to coexistence. Just as vastly different textures, colors, and raw materials are stitched together to build one unified terrain, our distinct individual paths are layered upon the exact same earth, inextricably woven into one another.
