"Disconnect" is a visual commentary on technology's impact on our innate desire to communicate and connect. Technology, such as social media and Apps, can MIMIC us connecting with one another. But there are still physical barriers between us. The goldfish in their bubbles are a visual metaphor: Each occupies a lone bubble where they can see one another and try to communicate. But they are still not swimming in the same water. There is no true sharing of the same experience in the same space.
