Where do our imaginations go when walking through a forest at night? Even sublime sycamore trees can become scary with their twisted limbs, patches of white bark mixed to form frightening shapes and imaginary forms. Naturally formed scars on the trees can begin to look like faces, and the patchwork of limbs and leaves in the darkness can reveal even more beasts in the forest with eyes peering out at us. Our imagination can interpret the colors, shapes and forms in the forest in scary ways. This acrylic painting represents those imaginative interpretations.
