The beauty of macrophotography is that it opens the viewers’ eyes to a whole new world; a world that is sometimes fanciful, sometimes unnerving, but always interesting. This photo of a tiny crab spider, no more than 5mm in diameter, gives the observer insight into the life of a fairytale-style beast who lurks among the petals of a dill flower, waiting for unwary prey to step inside.

I've always believed that photography is the perfect way to slow down and gain a better appreciation of the world around us. The more I explore macrophotography, the more I realize how true this is. And I realize how much bigger the world that lives on the edges of our consciousness is than we can ever fathom. It's taught me that we belong to the world, we are essentially included in this amazing, living space; it doesn't belong to us.
