For “Beasts of the Imagination,” I chose to explore the tension between real and perceived obstacles in the creative process. My work embodies this theme by manifesting personal doubts and struggles as creatures— beasts born from the imagination, shaped by internal fears and external traumas. Using mixed media— charcoal, aerosol, and latex acrylics— I bring these forms to life, not as foes to be vanquished, but as forces to be understood and reclaimed. The stark black-and-white palette emphasizes the contrast between fear and reality, illustrating that these imagined barriers exist only as long as we allow them to.
