The concept for this piece grew from the childhood imaginary beast that resides under the bed. However, I did not want it to be under just any bed. I chose to use the famous bed in Van Gogh’s “Bedroom in Arles” as my inspiration. Like many other artists, I did my own take of his piece. I, however, gave it a darker feel with the shadows, and of course, the eyes.
