“I see my painting as a connection to the ephemeral.  All things will pass.  The things that surround me in the day-to-day are reminders of that.  I'm particularly drawn to things of sound construction and identifiable texture . . . that comes with age.  The subjects I render have a reference to the human presence.  We are a part of every picture and subject to the same time constraints.  The current things of this world move too fast; particularly technology.  Our current technology doesn't allow for the aging process.  The materials and techniques of this day are geared for a short lifespan - very temporary –today’s trash and tomorrow’s antiques will be plastics found in cyberspace.  Not good visuals for an appreciation of textural subject matter . . . like my work.  I like the look and feel of the world and it's way with texture, color, and the human presence.”
