ACTUAL FILM STRIP

Random reels of 35mm film are used to create the ACTUAL FILM STRIP.

As movie theaters make the transition from film to digital, 35mm film is slowly disappearing.

What’s left is archived, privately collected, or discarded.  As collectors, we’ve re-purposed these images from our film history and have given them another viewing - one Strip at a time.

This hand crafted item is one of a kind, from a bygone era that once had its run in an old movie house. 

Our Story

We are 3 projectionists in NYC who over the years have become unwitting collectors, because we didn't have the heart to see film thrown out. One year we decided to "upcycle" and make our own Christmas gifts.  We started out making candle votives with a single frame of film and had a huge success at the Union Square Holliday Market, here in NYC. Customers expressed an interest in owning a "Strip" of film.  Now we want to reach out to find a new audience who would appreciate the value and novelty of owning a tiny piece of old Hollywood.
