We come together to get motivated and to encourage each other in art.

Micah Brooks, Muldrow, OK
Ribbons of Rain and Thunder, 2026
Oil on canvas
18 x 24”

From the cold edge of nothing to the warm taste of spring, across borders, beyond doors, past words into our very lungs, our common ground is the sky above us, and within us.

Angela Browning, Tulsa, OK

Breaking Open, 2025

Ceramic, glaze, acrylic paint, and flock

8 x 9 x 9”

Breaking Open is a seed-like object with a glazed central portion that is surrounded by an outer shell that has been painted and flocked to give it a highly textured surface. This is one of a series of pods that represent the possibilities and qualities that we as individuals can cultivate within ourselves. Here is where our sons learned to identify every rock and formation, and the night constellations not visible from our sky at home. From this love of the outdoors, both sons chose careers of working outside with one son starting his own business designing and building treehouses and the other managing a thriving nursery in NWA. It's these valuable lessons of respect and care for the land reminding us that the American National Parks are not just for the rich or powerful, but for everyone.

Leota Hartgraves, Shady Point, OK

Humanity, 2026

Acrylic on canvas

12 x 12”

Peace has been destroyed. From a cultural standpoint, it can become even harder to find unifying aspects of our society. Social media, politics, and so many other things push us into opposing groups.

However, I believe if we look beyond this, we all face similar struggles. We’ve all been broken in some way, and have either put ourselves back together, or are in the process of doing so.
